The Mission Museum celebrates this year’s Heritage Week 2025 theme with ‘Time Well Spent: How Our Leisure Activities Made Us Who We Are’. Our virtual exhibit explores the evolution of recreation in Mission’s history, and celebrates the many traditions and pastimes enjoyed by the people of Mission through the years.
Featuring carefully selected artifacts ranging from games and toys to books and music from Mission’s past, the showcase reveals how changing social, political, and economic forces shaped our modern views of leisure time and entertainment.
A History of Leisure...

The Mission Museum is a branch of the Mission District Historical Society, a charitable non-profit organization that relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to help us share the story of our community and the people who call it home.
Donations allow us to continue developing new exhibits and programs so we can continue to preserve Mission’s storied past.
